Modern Integration Capability Review for Improved Customer Engagement

With integration becoming a critical capability within organisations due to the ever-increasing demand for information, our customer in the insurance industry was seeking to evolve their member and community value proposition and increase adoption of online channels through a modern and effective integration capability.
Chamonix was engaged to lead a review of our customer’s integration, including all aspects such as tooling, architecture, processes and support.
We conducted our review through the lens of the ICT Strategy and the organisation’s future integration needs rather than the suitability of current tooling to meet current business outcomes. This would ensure that the business was well equipped to deliver on their strategy longer term.
Our initial effort focused on gaining a holistic view of our customer’s business & technology drivers as well as their current integration capability. This was achieved through interviews with key stakeholders and reviewing artefacts to understand the organisation’s current and future technology landscape whilst building strong contextual perspective with both business and technical resources. Additionally, we obtained an overview of the current integration capability including tools, patterns, processes and skills.
We subsequently provided a summary of the future state integration capability including; reference architecture, patterns, principles and governance and highlighted the gaps with existing capability against the future needs. We provided a recommendation to the organisation regarding technology uplift requirements inclusive of key business impacts and justification. Leveraging Chamonix’s existing knowledge of the local integration market, coupled with extensive research, we were able to identify of a ‘long-list’ of integration platforms followed by a ‘short-list’ of candidate platforms using the organisation’s requirements. We provided a high-level assessment for consultation and calibration with the project sponsor and key stakeholders ahead of establishing integration architecture recommendations for the organisation’s integration team to move forward with.
